PRIMARY INVESTMENT

At 5 pm, PDT, before results are known in the Pennsylvania Primary, only one sound can be heard – ca-chinggg! Hillary is not only broke but in debt. Obama has outspent her three to one. If after all the money he has spent, Obama can’t actually win Pennsylvania, he isn’t a viable candidate. It’s all about the money.

Money, and the ability to raise it, have become the defining issues of the campaign; not foreign policy or economic policy, not health care or privacy or women’s rights ... just money. This is why all federal elections should be publicly funded. If we can eliminate the issue of money we might have an opportunity to discuss some of the pivotal issues of our time.

Hi Bart,

I agree with you, but what happens to the $3 I contribute to the Presidential Election Campaign Fund every year on my Federal income tax return?

You gotta get your sea-legs, son! A rolling pin and a cutting board will do the trick. That's what Biscuits says!

Love your blog cuz. It's unabashedly liberal, an affliction from which I hope I never recover. I especially liked your take on the revolving door in airport regulation. This has been an abiding theme throughout the Bush administration, and will persist if John McCain is elected to serve W's third term.

If you get a moment, you might want to take a gander at my blog. The address is globevest.blogspot.com

All the best,

Your other non-golfing cousin
