Punk government

In a letter to the Los Angeles Times this morning I wrote:

Deputy Mayor Sarah Sheahan claimed earlier in the week that neither the Mayor nor his staff had advance knowledge of the $1.2 million payout to ousted H.A. executive director Rudolf Montiel. Now she says she was "misinformed," that they did know. Has anyone bothered to ask the obvious question? Did someone lie to the deputy mayor? If so, who is that person and why hasn't that person been fired? Or did Ms. Sheahan simply invent an answer that had no basis in fact, in effect lying to major news outlets? In that case, why hasn't Ms. Sheahan been fired? This story just gets better and better.
