VOTING DAY

I probably write the same damn thing every two years on voting day, but it just amazes me when I step into the auditorium of my old elementary school to vote, and find ballots printed up in four different languages: English, Spanish, Korean, and God-knows-what-the-last-one-is. Now, I don't care if your people got here three weeks ago or three centuries ago - we're all immigrants, so it doesn't much matter - but I would think that basic English would be a basic requirement for voting. Obviously, however, I would be wrong.
